PACIFIC SURF BATHING CLUB
The fourth annual meeting of the above was held in the Bungalow Tea Rooms last evening. Mr \V. T. M'Farlane presiding. The annual report was adopted without discussion, and the balance-sheet, which showed that there was a balance in the bank of £55 16s 9d, was also adopted. Mr IV. E. Gladstone stated that satisfactory arrangements for the incoming season had been made in every v.ay, and. in addition, sun bathing conveniences had been provided, which would be a great advantage Tbe club had a membership of over 300, and it was hoped that subscriptions would come ; n more readily than during the past season. The Domain Board had helped the club very willingly, and their thanks were due to that body. The election of office-bearers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Mr W. T. M'Farlane (re-elected); vice-presidents—Messrs J. 0. Marshall, E. H. Eager, H. Street, A, Hudson, C. F. Alexander, B Scofield; honorary medical officers—Drs Lindon, Allen, Williams, Roberts, and Colquhoan: hon. solicitor, Mr J. M. Gallaway; auditor, Mr B» V. Parker; hon. treasurer, Mr H. Lus« combe; secretary, Miss Mulholiand; a» sistant secretary, Mis* Hastings; hon. architect, Mr F. W. Petre; clnb captain, Mr J. 8. Peterson; vioe-captains, Messrt D. Scurr and W. J. Dove; committee— Messrs S. M'Lean, W. E. Gladstone, D. Caradus, and King, Mrs J. Dnanm, Misses Heady and Hastings. At th® dose of the general business the president presented Mr J. Pereira with a gold medal and certificate from the Roya l Humane Society for his promptitude an( courage in endeavoring to rescue Mr Low: from drowning. On receiving the medal Mr Pereira wa warmlv applauded, and lie acknowledge! the gilts in a suitable manner.
