A private of the 13th Company of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders states with some prids that his company marched 70 miles in two days, and then, after two hours' sleep, took part in a hard engagement. During the retreat from Moris the 2nd Royal Scots marched 200 miles in seven days. "Wo got no chance of a wash or a change of sn.Jcs fov a weo-k.'* writes a private, ''and were wvor allowed more than two hours' rest.at a time."
