The ordinary monthly meeting of the Otago Centre, New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, was held in the Y.M.O.A. Rooms last evening, -Mr E. Rosevear (president) in the chair, there being a large attendance of delegates. The certificates won at the recent patriotic sports gathering were presented by the president, who congratulated all who had responded to the centre’s call to make the meeting so conspicuous a success. He desired to express the centre’s appreciation of the loyal assistance of the ladies in connection with the gathering. To the City bands, and in particular the schools’ fife and drum banos, he expressed the centre’s thanks. A cheque for £IOO had been forwarded to the Otago Patriotic and General Welfare Association, and the balance (probably £SO) would be remitted when the returns from ticket-holders are complete.—Mr B. J. Barrett (head master Arthur Street School) congratulated the centre upon the success of the patriotic meeting, which he characterised as one of the finest outdoor displays he had ever witnessed.

The date of the annual general meeting of the Otago Centre was fixed for Thursday, the 29th October, at the Y.M.C.A. Rooms. Mr F. M. Reid (D.A.A.C.) gave notice of his intention to move at this meeting—“ That the Otago Centre institute a registration list for all members.” The N.Z.A.A.A. notified that the annual meeting of the Council is to be held at Wellington on the 23rd November.
