An extraordinary change has taken place in the condition of the weather today. The thermometer registered at 2 o’clock 107deg in the sun and 82deg in the shade. ***■»*«* The match between Mr Devine’s Captain Soott and I'll - Weedon’s Colleen Bawn took place to-day, and was easily won by the former by six lengths. The Captain was ridden by E. Davis. A fair amount of money changed hands.—Oamaru telegram.
