Fire at Wanganui yesterday gutted a draper's shop occupied by Mr H. Dooiey, and also damaged Mr Spiingman's watchmaker's shop. The building wae owned by Mrs Shields, and was insured for £3OO in the Northern Office. Mr Doorey'.s stock and furniture were insured for £590, Mr Springman's itock for £7O in the Yorkshire Office, and £7O in the New Zealand Office. Mr Doorey's stock «as valued at £7OO and Mr Springman's at £2lO. Tho Southland Education Office received intimation on Friday that the Ardlussa School was burnt down during the nightThere are no further particulars beyond the fact that there was a fire in the school on Thursday on aeeovnt of the snow.
