It was Richard's first day ar school. At noon he rushed into the house, picked up the treasured funny page o£ the paper, and seamed it with eager anticipation in his face. A moment later he threw it down, and in a tom of disgust cried : “ Gea! That’s a rotten school,” 41 Why, Richard,” exclaimed his astonished mother, 44 what do you say that for ?” “ Well, I’ve been to it a whole half-da v, - a ami X ain’t learned to read yet."
