First Day.—Wednesday.

The track firmed up well during the night, and, though heavy when the.races started, it was drying fast all the time under the influence of a, strong breeze and sunshine. The Citizens’ Band supplied the music. There was a very largeattendance. Two extra patrol 'stewards (Messrs R. Young and T. Rollinshaw’ acted in conjunction with the club’s stewards. Results :

The result of the protest lodged in the Beach Handicap was that Regina Belle wa* disqualified for crossing in the back, and the 4 stakes were awarded to Knapdale, The Lark being placed third.
