vcl 'y pleasant evening was spent on Monday m the Albany Street, Hall under the auspices of Leith Lodge. N.G. Bro. JJ. F, Smillio presided for the last tnno prior to his departure for the North Island, The only business before the meeting was of a routine nature, and quickly despatched. .Bro. D. hi. Mi'ler, P.G.M., on behalf of the members, made a presentation to Bio. iomitlie as a tangible proof of the respect and the esteem in which ho is held, and in. a few words expressed regret at Ids departure, and wished him increased happiness and prosperity in his new sphere of labor. These remarks were supplemented by several of the other members. Bro. iSmillie suitably replied, thanking his fellow-members very heartily for the present. The secretary of the Miniaturn Rifle Club was also present with the rifles, and members rock the opportunity of getting a little practice in view of the forthcoming open competitions. Others indulged in a game of cards. The. usual compliment extended to tho visitors was responded to by Bro. J. 11. Hinton, P.G. (Unity), and Bro. W. Kilpatrick, P.G. Pioneer), who each added his quota of good wishes to Bro. SnuJlie.
