The monthly meeting was largely attended to-day, Mr J. W. Blair presiding. Before commencing th» business tho president referred in feeling terms to the death of Mr James Hazlett, one of the governors of tho society, and a motion was passed minuting tho society's regret. A letter was received from the Tramway Committee of the City Council in connection with the Tahuna Park line and the carriage of stock to the show.— Referred to a sub-committeo to wait on the Tramways Committee. Mr G. H. Stewart (Crookston) wrote expressing his appreciation of the society's action in appointing him to the committee, and stating that lie would do ins .best to further the interests of the society in his district. The Secretary of tho Now Zealand Holstein-Fresian Society wrote recommending judges for appointment.—Recommendations adopted. _ The schedule of clauses for tho coming show was carefully revised and additions m~.' to the prize allocations. The secretary reported that a number of promises of special prizes had been received.

The Secretary of tho Clydesdale Horse Society of New Zealand wrote re affiliation scheme, and it was resolved to affiliate.

The fields competition to be held in the autumn were revi'sed, and it was resolved to add classes for the children attending the various schools, particulars of which will be notified later. Mr R. L. Smith (Becks) was elected a member of the society.
