(Received May 3, at 11.15 a.m.) Mr Foster, the Canadian Minister of Commerce, speaking on the relations of the Empire and the Dominions, described Australia as “ a land of lithe, well-set-up people, but a little undisciplined ■ in some respects, and with great promise. New Zealand is small and compact, but a wellendowed member of the family.”
