FORBURY TROTTING CLUB

Fiest Day.—Feidax. The postponed first day' 6 races of the lorbury Park Trotting Club took place to-day. The weather was showery, but this did not prevent a large -attendance, the going was of couree slow. The Citizens' Band supplied the music. A number of improvements have been made since the last meeting. The board showing the riders is now on the back of the judge's box, and there is a stand for the trainers. Maesey got away smartly, and led fol five furlongs, where Trugela passed to the front. With a lap to go Truganini (the favorite) closed on Massey, and Mandor lay third. Truganini took a decided lead three furlong 6 from home, and won anyhow by half a dozen lengths. The Tac© for second place was rather amusing. Mandor shook off Trugela's' challenge six strides from the post, and apparently had the second money won, but Iris rider fell off almost on the line, and Spylaw Maid at the same instant spurted past Trugela. Mandor was fourth. Time, 4min l6ec. A fox terrier joined in the finish, but it did not cause the accident to Mandor. Hia jockey broke a stirrup. Inchcape Lell wc* second favorite, Spylaw Maid third, Dellah Bah fourth, and Mandor fifth. PACIFIC HANDICAP (Harness), lOOsovo; second 15sovs, third ssovs. ljm. Mr H. Beubell assumed the lead from Dolly Rcdgers and Security. Beubell was pulled off by the starter, after going a lap, for starting before her time. This left Dolly Rodger's in the lead from Security and La Paloma. The latter tired three furlongs from home. Security was pulled off after completing two laps, also for starting too soon. DoUj Rcdgers trotted homealoii:, winning, oa.inj up, by eight lengths, third nino lengtho further away, Dalwhinney close up fourth. Time, 4min 9"sec. The order of betting was Beubell 1, Lady Wallace 2, La Paloma 3, Security 4, Dalwhinnie 5, and the winner 6. Claremont was the outsider. H. C. Mountney (rider of Beubell) and R. H. Mackin (on Security) were each fined £2 by the starter, Mr W. F. Dunne. BEACH HANDICAP, 120sovs; second 18sovs, third 6sovs. 2m. -Mr W. N. Wilson's Matilda H. by Kinf Harold—Lily H., lCsec (W. Jones) 1 Mr A. L. Gerrard's Nora Burley, 820 c (W. Cowie) ... • a Mr J. Sutherland's Bow Bell, ssec..(T. Annett) 3 Also started: Voter scratch, Regina Belle 4sec, Benmore 4sec, Glenfoot Bsec, 0.1.C. Bsec, Carretta Bsec, Hectorata lOsep, Asbestol lOsec, Ima D. lOsec, and Ilory lOsec. Rory and Ima D. led for a furlong, then Rory broke, and Ima D. went on from Hectorata and Nora Burley. After going six furlongs Ima D. was two lengths ahead of Nora Burley, Hectorata next. In the back Nora Burley joined Ima D., and with a lap to go Nora Burley led Ima D. two lengths, Bow Bell closing up. Matilda H. made a fine run in the back stretch, and won by four lengths, her rider looking round. Bow Bell broke at the finish, but was close up. 0.1.C. and Benmore were next. Time, snvin B|sec. Jones had to be lifted out of the saddle and carried into the scales. Apparently he got hurt in the race. C. Morgan, rider of Voter, was fined £2 for beating the starter. Regina Belle was a slightly better favorite than Hectorata. The winner was ninth in order of the betting. PRESIDENT'S HANDICAP (Harness), 250sovs and Mr C. H. Street's Cup; second 37|eovs, third 12|sovs. 2m. Mr A. G. Wilson's Bright, by Rothschild—Ptarmigan, 2sec (Owner) ... 1 Mr P. Dela-rgey s Prince Alert, scratch (D. Clayton) 2 Mr J. Farrell's Glendalough. 4sec (T. W. Price) ' 3 .Also storied : Gianella 2eee, Bell Metal 2sec, and Lord Heathcote 2sec. Glendalough skipped at the start and lost her handicap ; but it was a false start, and they were all called back. At the second attempt Gianella got left, and took no part in the race. Glendalous;h led Bell Metal in the early stages, but after about six furlongs Bell Metal skipped twice and lost his place. Entering the last lap Bright rushed past Glendalough. followed by Prince Alert, and the two had the race to themselves. Bright winning by four lengths, Glendalough a very bad'third, Lord Heathcote fourth. Bell Metal was favorite. Time. smin 9 l-scec. TRIAL HANDICAP, l^m. Sirrah J., 4seo (H. Mackin) 1 Belette, 4sec (A Pringle) 2 Rudolph, 6sec (J. Wilson) 3 Scratched: T'uheringi. Won by 12 lengths. Time, 4min 4sec. Belette, a red-hot favorite, lost a lot of ground at the start.
