RAVENSBOURNE REGATTA
o- —- The weekly meeting of the above Regatta Committee was held in the boat.shed last evening, Vice-commodore J. .V. Blackio presiding, some .'lO committeemen being present. Messrs SUtham, M.P., i'latts, and J. Mill forwarded donations of .l'i Is .-aeh. it was decid-'d to hold the regatta concert next month, and from the list of persons who have volunteered assistance it may be safely said that a hue programme will bo produced. The collectors reported that subscriptions were coming in freely. Arrangements were made to have two flagships, and the services of tho Dunedin Pipe Band are to be secured. It was decided to havo first, second, and third class yacht races, a cruisersrace, three motor-boat races, and a maiden four outrigger rowing race. It was further decided to interview those in authority to see if a life-saving competition could be held, as well as several swimming races. Tho secretary (Mr Gregory) reported that the ladies of the district had again volunteered to take charge of the afternoon tea. Given fine weather on March 2, tho annual regatta at Ravonshourne will be as successful as any of its predecessors.
