Mr Paulin advised us at 2 p.m. : Squally to a heavy gale; S.W. to N.W. winds ; heavy rain, halt, and thunder. The weather during the past week has continued cold and windy. On Wednesday last there raged ono of tho fiercest south-west gales experienced in this district for many yeaie. Fruit trees and gardens generally suffered severely, hut no other serious damage is reported. Good rains have since followed, and the country now pi-esents a' finer appearance than for some years past. —Palmerston correspondent. [By Telegraph.] BLUFF, December 6. A perfect hurricane, accompanied by torrents of rain, has been raging here all morning.
