DUNEDIN PRESBYTERY.

The, adjourned meeting of the Dunedin Presbyters - was continued in one of the First Church schoolrooms yesterday afternoon, the Rev. W. Spoiice, Moderator, presiding over a fair at- | tendance. . The question of whether the minutes | of a pro re nata meeting (at which military training had been considered, and which had been declared invalid) should be sustained or not was raised and discussed at some length.—LThe Ilev. A. M. Finlayson moved that the motion declaring the meeting invalid be rescinded, and the minutes of the pro re nata mooting bo approved.—The Rev. D. Dutton moved as an amendment that the Presbytery go on to the next business.—The amendment was carried on a show of hands. A report on the Presbytery expenses for the year ended March 1, 1911, was received. The income totalled £92 6s 9d, and the expenses amounted to £sl 5s 6d. —The Temperance Campaign.— The General Assembly's Temperance Committee forwarded a circular calling attention to an Assembly minute enjoining presbyteries, in view of the forthcoming Local Option poll, to do what they could to help on the cause of temperance. The committee also drew attention to the fact that the position this year was unprecedented, inasmuch as in addition to the Local Option issue there was Dominion Option. They hoped that presbyteries would join in carrying the fight to the gate, and in becoming leaders in the battle.—The Rev. J. Chisholm gave ucjice to move at next meeting the appointment of a small committee to devise means of helping the cause. It was decided to recommend to the Theological Committee that the application of David M'Neur to be allowed to pursue a non-Latin course for the ministry be granted. The Presbytery conditionally agreed to authorise the Musselburgh congregation to raise a mortgage on its property.
