MEETINGS AND SOCIALS.
BAPTIST SUNDAY SCHOOL. The Caversham Baptist SiuKlay School annual tea and entertainment took place hist night. A throng of bright, happy young peoplo eat down to the good things to amply prodded through tlie generosity of the school. After justice had been done to those, an adjournment was made to the church, which, by the time tho entertainment began, was well filled with parents and scholars. The Rov. C. Boyall presided, and with him on the platform were Mr 11. 11. Todd, tho superintendent, and Mr A. I>. Scott, the secretary of the school. A fairly long programme of solos, choruses, recitations, and dialogues was rendered by the scholars. The secretary, in his report, reviewed the work of the year, making special reference to the fact that the school was erecting an infant room and a church parlor, which is also to be used oji Sunday afternoons by the Young Women's Bible Class. The number of scholars on the roll is 242, an increase of 15 for the year. Mr Scott, the secretary, who is leaving shortly for Christchiuch. was presented with a travelling bag ;ind umbrella. Mr 11. 11. Todd addressed tho meeting on the importance of the work among the young, and urged the hearty co-operation of the parents in instructing the children. A bright, successful gathering was brought to a close by the singing of the doxology.
