At the Tabernacle,_ King street, last night Mr Ralph Gcbbie, evangelist, spoke of ‘The Christian Career as Seen in the Beatitudes.’ In the course of the sermon the preacher pointed out that there was a difference between being poor in spirit and poor-spin ted. The poor-spirited men coidd not look up to God, and lacked life and inspiration, “ Blessed are tile peacemakers,” and he who was a Christian would not only maki peace between himself and his neighbors, but would do all in his power to make peace between God and his fellowmen.
