II HELPLESS CRIPPLE WITH RHEUMATISM. One of the Worst Cases on Record* A Nurse in Attendance Night and Day* $ VTheeled About in an Invalid's Chair—Expected to be a Cripple for Life—This Woman Cured by Dr. Williams’ Pmk Pills. A worse case of rheumatism can hardly be imagined than was endured by Mrs Charles F. Carter. For months she was a complete cripple, a nurse in attendance night and day, and the only outing she had was when she was wheeled about in an invalid’s chair. Her right leg was drawn up so that it could not be straightened. Mrs Carter, after enduring much agony, was cured by Dr Williams’ Pink Pills, and she has given the following statement for the benefit of other sufferers : “I had four attacks of rheumatic fever in my life, and rheumatism set in fora years 'back in my right knee. It first came for a few days in my arm, then the left knee, and finally settled in the right. I suffered such pain that I thought I could not live. I fell away dreadfully. I turned a yellow color. I could not eat; even the daintiest food seemed beyond me. I was in bed for months, and at last I was quite crippled. I would scream if the nurse went near me, even to change the bed linen. I was too weak to move or sit np. I lay on one side for six weeks. The knee swelled tremendously, and all the skin turned black and discolored. I took chlorodyne till it lost all effect, for I could not deep without a sedative. I would lie awake at night for hours. The doctor said I had arthritis of the joints. _ I never thought to walk again. The right leg drew up till the heel touched the calf of the other leg, and it simply conld not be straightened. Friends thought I was hopelessly paralysed. I used to be wheeled out in an invalid’s chair for fresh air. The leg was bandaged in flannel and lint from above the knee to the foot. I bad the knee in screw splints, and I slept with a pillow under it. Friends used to call and fairly give way whan they found bow altered I was and what pain I was suffering night and day. My husband was dreadfully worried. They wanted me to go to the hospital to have the leg put in irons. I was wheeled down, and they said it was a case for the surgeon, so I told them to wheel me back hcjje, and I would die there. I had four different doctors, but they had practically to give the case up. I had been suffering for eight months when I read of Dr Williams’ Pink Pills.
