DUNEDIN COURSING CLUB

The attendance on Saturday was a little better than on the first daj. The management seemed to give satisfaction. Mr F. Carter (president) and Mr P. H. Power (secretary) had a good grip of all the details. Honeywood deserved her' win in the Coronation Stakes, for, without showing any surprise form, she improved steadily throughout the stake, and owed nothing to luck. Western Star was beaten in his bye by a puppy, and therefore it was contrary to expectations to see him dispose of Brownie decisively in the final of the President's Stake. The hares mostly se:raed a strong lot, bat .there were ' nine kills on Saturday—rather a high proportion by comparison with the Friday, when eleven lost their lives in. thirty-nine courses. Mr A. Aitken slipped faultlessly throughout, and Mr T. Kett gave his decisions promptly. The end courses resulted thus:— CORONATION STAKE, for forty dogs at £2 2s each. - Winner, 30 sovs; runner-up, £l2 10s; third dog, 5 sovs: two dogs at 4 sovs each; and five dogs at 2 sovs each. —Fifth Round.— Honeywood beat Greenback.
