STEVENSON RETAINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP. Piess Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, April 30. (Received May 1, at 8.5 a.m.) Stevenson (18,000) defeated Inman (16,914), retaining the billiards control championship. Gray, writing to '.Sporting Life/ repudiates the former challenges purported to be made on his behalf, and adds that he is now free to challenge Stevenson and luman to a ganie of 16,000 up level, £250 a side, the winner to take two-thirds of the gate.
