A NORTH ISLAND TRAOKDY. [Pis United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, May 1. The ' Star's' Taumaranui correspondent telegraphs that an awful murder and suicide occurred at mid-day yesterday on the banks of the Ongaruhe- Hirer, 150 yds from the boat landing. A young half-caste Maori named Bell is supposed to hare murdered Anna Thomas, who was also a half-caste, by cutting her throat with a razor. He then cut his own throat with the razor. The tragedy was witnessed by a man named Harris, who promptly secured the assistance of the local doctor and the police. The bodies were conTeyed to the morgue. The tragedy is attributed to jealousy. Sell and Miss Thomas had been keeping company.
