Draught kernes, judged by Mr T. Logan, of Olnma, wers llie : t:-o:;;-crt feature of the show. Tho citric.-, were, more numerous than in previous years by about forty. Rings ci' between half a dozen and a dozen came f.award in tho classes for marcs and young s.tocl:. Four local i'.c!'.;cs i.ulf-red tile rin- for aged stallions, Mr J. Robinson's Baruii Mitchell winning hum .Mr G. Gowic's Voi:::g Pimee Albert, with Mr R. Robscn's M'Gr.-gor third. In the class for threc-ycar-uiu stallions Mr T. Mills's Royal Carrick and .Messrs Carrie Bros.' Ge.ncnl Stewart met for the third time this season. The local horse (Royal Carrick! won, thus upholding the Dunedin decision, and reversing the placing at the Taieri show, where, however, Royal Carrick was not shown to tho best advantage. Mr A. Alftson scored first and second in a ring of four two-year-old colts. The winner was sired by Rob Roy. Mr P. P.endall (Balcliitha) took first in yearling colts with a bay by "Glen Leary, which made its first, appearance in a show ring. Mr R. Btattle. who took second prize, secured a special for the best yearling colt by Young Lyon. The ticket for th< champion stallion was won by Royal Carrick. Mr Logan, who bred him, did not adjudicate in the classes 3i which he was entered, these being judged by Mr H. Saunders, of Waimaie. .Mr Allison's two-year-old was reserve champion- The judging of the draught mares and light horses is proceeding. Li cattle the show w.is disappointing, as, apart from Messrs Clark and Boyd's shorthorn bull from Lovell's Flat, which repeated its success at the Taieri Show, the animals were mostly a:i ordinary lot, and in many classes no entries came forwardMr D. Andrews, of Mosgiel, was judge, and the principal prize-takers were Messrs ,1. Cowie, J. Finch, D. Scott, E. Atby, and Mrs Miller. Mr Scott obtained the prize for most points in cattle. There was an excellent show of sheep, Border Leicester*, Romney Marshes, crossbreds, and a few Downs being the breeds exhibited. Mr William Grey, of Milburn. swept K'o board with his wellknown Bcdcr Leicester*, while the prize* in ltomnevs were divided bv Mr W. S. Mollitt, Mr A. Moffitt, Mr'j. Loc-khart, and Mr W. Grey. Tho judges, Mx George Murdoch (Riversdale) and Mr J. Miller (Maungatua), had not completed their task by two o'clock. 'Miss Kempshell judged the dairy produce, which was excellent. Tho cliief prize-laker was Mrs Taylor, of Stony Creek, who took four firsts in butter. The other prizes were distributed, there being really good competition. Mrs W. Paul and 'Miss Inglis repeated their Dunedin Winter Show success in bread, taking first and second prizes respectively.
