Mr Henry Broadhoad. who lias for the past ton years filled the position of secretary to the Canterbury Employers' Association, has resigned. He purposes leaving for England in January next. A Ixnidon message states that the estate of Dr Goc, late Bishop of Melbourne, is valued at £lO,ll l. The sum of £IOO is bequeathed to the Bishop of Me.lbourne fund.
A Loudon cable advises that Hr MacGregor, of St. Cnthbert’s Church. Edinburgh. is dead. Mr W. L. Walton has been appointed assistant in the secondary department of the Tenmka District High School, and commences duties on Deocmbcr 1.
Mr Peter Bowling, the Australian 1-abor loader, will arrive at Auckland to-morrow, and will deliver addresses at some of the lending centres in the North and South Islands. Ho will speak at Kaitangata on December 7, at Dunedin on December 8, and then go on to Christchurch and (ho West Coast. —P.A. wire.
