Mt Borden (Leader of the Opposition), in the debate on the Navy, declared that the policy of the Conservatives if they wore in power was to find the exact situation in regard to the Motherland’s naval defence, and then to act accordingly, with a view to aiding Great Britain, provided Canadians endorsed their proposals. A coarse of permanent policy ought to he laid before the country for its decision, ilr Borden then moved an amendment to the Address-in-Reply, regretting the Governmen’s imwiliiugnces to consult the people regarding the navy.
