Revised commerce regulations fix the standards for exported butter as superfine, first, second, and third grades, and pastry. It must contain no fat other than butter-fat, not more than 15 per cent, of water, 3 per cont. of casein, 0.5 per cent, of boric acid, and 4 per cent, of salt. Strict regulations have been prescribed for labelling and describing meats and other articles of food and drink, medicines, and manufactured articles intended for export. The following fees are payable before export is permitted :—Butter, per box; mutton and lamb, -Jd per carcass; cattle, 3d ; pigs, Id ; canned meats, per 1001b. THE WOOL SALES. DECLINE OF?PER CENT. (Received November 25, at 8.55 a.m.) At the wool sales 8,428 bales, comprising a capital selection of merinoes, but only 740 bales of cross-breds, were offered. There was a large attendance and good competition in all sections. Compared with the closing rates of tho October series good merinoes sold at par to 5 per cent. deeEne, fanlties at fully 5 per cent, decline, while cross-breds were unchanged.
