USURIOUS INTEREST ALLEGED. [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON. November 25. the inquest concerning' the death of Jhomas Joseph M'Curthv, farmer, of Masterton, who fell from *a train at Upper Hutt on Mondav night, was resumed yesterday. Victor Samuel, postal clerk, said deceased had complained to him a week ago of worry and fainting tits. Aloert Thomas Almond, passenger by the same train as deceased, had noticed" thatdeceased appeared mentally worried on the journey. He was of a "restless temperament. Harry Ernest Samuel Banks, the guard, stated that he found deceased Iving on the ground when the train reached 'Upper Huft. His legs appeared to be caught in the step of the carriage. He did not explain the accident. On the way to Wellington he was conscious, and was more or less rational. He seemed excited, but improved considerably by the time the tFain got to Silverstream. *At Belmont a passenger called witness into the carriage, when the man appeared to be dead. In a pocket-book found in the deceased's possession was the following statement, wheihwas read at to-day's proceedings : " I have had no money from loan companies for years, and I have paid twenty times over in 40 per cent, for three or four months, running for a number of years. I have done my best, and served my life in misery. I have never had an idle day or any pleasure this thirty-five years. *The lawyers have robbed me. I never did a poor man out of a penny in ray life." As the analyst's report had* not been received the inquest- was further adjourned. '
