(Received Jnlj 21, at 10.30 a.m.) The Premier (Mr Moore), in the course of a policy speech, said that the deficit last year was £102,000. The area under crop had increased by 70.000 acres, and implications h;.d been for two million acres. The goldfields production was £6,999,000, compared with £7,210.000 for the -previous year, the decrease being due to tho treatment of lower grade ores. The industry, however, was sound and profitable. He foreshadowed a large railway development, the liberalisation of the Legislative Council qualifications, a redistribution of S»atß Bill on a population basis and a Dairying Bill on New- Zealand lines.
