FREE SCHOOL BOOKS.

AUCKLAND, July 21. The Education Board decided to accept the grant foT frees school books. It was stated that the Board bad been too conscientious in declining to make the- required declaration, knowing that the grant was insufficient. Mr Grccnslade, M.P., said that the Wellington Board had lost £6O over a similar transaction, and the Auckland Board would have lost about £l5O.
