BURNSIDE STOCK SALES.
To-da.v. Sheep.—2,o93 yarded. A fairly large, entry, consisting principally of good quality wethera. Prices' for heavy sheep were about Is easier than last week, and the. same can be said of medium weights. Quotations :—Best wethers, 17e to 18s ; a few extra quality up to 19s 3d ; medium, 14s 6d to 15s 6d; best ewos, 13s to 15s; a pen of extra heavy, 18s 3d. Lambs.—l,ooo yarded. The entry wa.s largely composed of medium quality lamhe. Prices were about 6d to Is easier, the decline being largely due to the unsatisfactory state of the Home market. Quotations :—Best lambs, lis to 12s 3d ; medium quality, 10s to lCs 6d. Pigs.—llo yarded. A line of brood sows from the North were of special quality, and, after a sharp sale, brought up to £7 7k apiece. There was a rise of about 3s a head on heavy pigs, and porkers and baeoners sold well. Quotations :—Suckers, 14s to 17s ; slips, 18s to 21s; stores, 22s to 28s; porkers, 33s to 40s ; light baeoners, 45s to. 535; heavy 55s to 665. Cattle.—2oo yarded, The average quality was good, although a pen or two of poor sorts were forward. Some verv fine heifers were. in. In view of the big entry a decline on last week's prices was quite expected. The sale was late.
