The assessors at Alipur found twenty-five of those who were arrested in connection with an alleged widespread conspiracy, including Arabirida Ghose, not guilty, and his brother Baron and seven others guilty. Judge Beachcroft, who is not bound by the assessors' opinion,. will deliver judgment next- week. Popular excitement is increasing, and great precautions have been taken to prevent rescues. During 120 sittings of the Court there were 200 Crown exhibits, including bombs, detonators, and chemicals. No witnesses were called for the defence. The Crown Prosecutor's address lasted thirteen days. He showed that the prisoners had prepared maps and plans of the places which they meant to attack, and that they had bolstered up a propaganda among the youths by a substratum of religion.
