Our Christchurch correspondent advises : —Mr Duncan Rutherford appealed to the Committee of the.Canterbury Jockey Club against the decision of the stewards "in distancing Ingoda for the Lyttelton Plate, run at the club's summer meeting, on the ground that there had been a mistake in the. identity of the filly. By defeating Petono on Saturday the Old Boys' team won the sanior championship of Wellington for the third year in succession. The announced sale of All Red to an Indian buyer has fallen through, and the Stepniak— Madder colt will race in Mr Buckley's interest.
