EFFECT OF THE EIGHT-HOURS ACT. Press Association—By Telegraph-Copyright. LONDON, March 8. (Received March 9, at 9 a.m.) An acute dispute is developing in- the South Wales collieries. The proprietors state that half the coal is being sold at a loss, and that the Eight-hours Act will increase the difficulty. The men propose a limitation of output in preference to a reduction in wages.
