METHODIST CONFERENCE.

WELLINGTON, March 9.

At the Conference to-day the foreign mission secretary reported that the total amount of income from Australasia for 1908 was £29,492, of which amount New Zealand contributed on the general account £2,161 and on the special account for the boat fund £742. The island mission districts contributed £9.373. The expenditure amounted to £31,057. including £3,285 for new mission beats. The deficit for the year was therefoCe £1,564. The balance-sheet of the cliildren's fund showed that last year's income was £1.370 and the expenditure £1,628. The basis of iaxation in connection with the fund 's to be adjusted and the levies raised, so as to remove the deficiency in three years.

The contingent fund showed" a credit balance of £387.
