Mr Willott's Daylight Saving Bill, under which it is proposed to advance the dock by an hour in April and to set it back in September, is being supported in an increasing degree in business circles. The Labor members opposed the second reading of the Bill, but Mr Churchill and Mr Lloyd-George supported it. The Government are neutral.

The second reading was agreed to by 130 votes to 94. The minority consisted mostly of agricultural members.
