[Per United Press Association.] TRENTHAAI RANGE, Alarch 6. ahe weather conditions to-day are a repetition of the two previous days, but it is excessively hot. The conditions for shooting after the early morning mist lifted were excellent. When tlie squads were lined up preparatory to marching off Colonel Collins was greeted with applause when h© announced that an extra £IOO had been aUooated to the prize list, £SO of which is to bo divided as a consolation match for those who had not won £l. The colonel also eulogised the excellent entry, whkh, taken in comparison with the size of the, country, was greater than the Bisley meeting with their millions of population to draw from. He hojied to see the day when mtr meeting -would be equal to Bisley. Shooting commenced to-day with the service matches at. 200 and* 500 yards. In the former (snap shooting) tho targets are exposed seven times, each exposure being for osec, with irregular intervals between the exposures, varying from Ssec to 30sec. _ Tlie target, with an Bin bull’s-eye, is invisible to the lirer, a bull's-eye only counting to decide ties, each hit on the figure scoring 5 points. In the 500 yards (rapid firing) the target woe of the same dimensions and divisions as an ordinary second class target. As the scores are token at the butts, the winners will possibly not be available for the evening pai>ers.
