Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, August 16. The Commonwealth vital statistics for last year show that 119,547 births were rcgktered. This is the 'highest number to fur attained. The illegitimate birth-rate is equivalent to 6.15 per .cent of the total, which is slightly lower than the rate for the previous three years. The marriage rate is the highest for twenty years. The deaths numbered 45,305, equivalent to 10.90 per 1,000. The deaths of children under one year were equal to 81.06 per thousand births The deaths included twenty-three centenarians, of whom thirteen were malts and ten females.
