Tho Marconi Wireless Telegraphic Company have, through their Australasian represents tiv-2 (Captain Walker), made proposals to tho Government for tho csiablislunertt of wireless telegraph, stations round the New Zealand coast. It is understood that the company are willing to erect and equip the proposed stations at tlicir own expense, and work them for a term of years, provided tho Government pay the company an annual subsidy to cover working expenses and maintenance. Tho, company would train engineers and operators out here. The proposed system would l>o for commercial use as lietwoen ships and tho shore, and there would probablv be connections between this mainland and Uk 1 Chatham, Auckland. Kormadecs, and other islands and tho various lighthouses.
