AMUSEMENTS.

-VUIAMJtitA THKATHK. Again last! evening a big audience were ? resent at the Alhambra Theatre. Mdme itus and her clever' baby act are proving an unqualified draw'. Last : evening some ill-mannered, uncomprehending feDow, saw--fit to attempt to disconcert , the artist by making an uncouth noise. Nothing is so easy as. to.'disconcert- an artist, more especially a woman of sensitive feeling, and nothing is more' unthinking and- brutal. Mdme delivered him a delicate thrust. She was about to recite ‘lf.We Only Try,’ and she prefacedit by saying; “There is a moral. in this that someone may lay to heart.” It is- .to be feared that the offender’s hide was proof against such - a light thrust. There/is only one argument that appeals to his sort. Throw him out, “on his head,” as they say. -Mdme Titus and the company supporting her appear again this evening. These are the.Bernards (musicians), Bernard’s performing dogs, A. L. Cropp, Sam Wilson, Nellie Leslie, and others. DALSO THE GREAT. Fresh from his triumphs in Melbourne and Sydney, Dalso will commence a short season at the Princess Theatre on Saturday next. In addition to being, recognised as a magician and illusionist,-Dalso is a thought-reader, and will introduce his great “act ” of silent- thought transmission. He will also introduce the aerial cycle ride and many novel illusions. Supporting Dalso are Miss Myra .Graham (mezzo-soprano) and Mr Alex. Hay (comedian and dancer). A competent mechanical staff ensure absolute perfection in the production of the illusions presented. EDISON’S PICTURES. This splendid picture show attracted another large house to -His Majesty’s Theatre last evening. Both machines were working, and the pictures are practically flickerless. It is doubtful if any picture so consistently good have yet been exploited here. The examples of colored ■ cinematography axe revelations. Of sensational pictures there are many, depicting such historic occasions as the marriage of Alpbonso and' Princess Ena and the earthquake at ’Frisco. Other interesting features are ‘ The Life of a New York Policeman,’ showing a struggle with an armed burglar, ‘A I£jre in New I.ork,’ ‘Raffles, the Cracksman,’ Of more instructive style are those beautiful films showing ‘New \ork'in a Blizzard,’ ‘Brooklyn Bridge,’ ‘The City Ghetto Fish Market, New York.’ But perhaps the most vividly interesting of all is, ‘ Coney Island,’ showing the innumerable side shows at a place where 400,000 people pay for, admission in one afternoon. Between waits, Mr Avalon Oollard entertains his .audience prettily. In brief, this is an excellent enter ta inn tent, which .may be heartily recommended to the public. It is to be given again this evening.
