MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

t fortnightly meeting ,of Linden Lodge, 1.0.0. F., was held at Rosiyn, Bro. T. Slater presiding. Bro. W. C. Allnutt, at fhp request of the Executive officers of the lodge, gave an account of the formation and progress of, the 1.0.0.P. Commencing ih Baltimore over a. century ago, with five members,’it has extended to almost every country in the World, and now counts its membership by millions. Luring the evening songs were contributed. A vote of thanks was passed to Bro. Allnutt and the accompanist^. Unity Lodge, I. O.O.F.,'entertained Loyal Cayereham Lodge, M.U., at the Friendly Societies’ Hall, South Dunedin, the„occasion being the annual card tournament. N.G. Bro. W. Hall presided. The match was well contested, and resulted in a draw, each side winning thirty-two games. After an interval for refreshments, a pleasant hour was spent in iiarmonv. * Lodge Ivanhoe Held their fortnightly meeting in the Oddfellows* Hall, Albany street, on Monday, A.JJ. Bro. Brockie presiding. There was a largo muster of visitors, including D.G.P, Bro. Smith, L.G.V.P. Bro. Mitchell, P.D.G.P. Bro. Bryant, P.D..GP Bro. Killett, D.P.s Connor, Birkenshaw, and Gibb. D.G.P. Bro. Smith presented P.D.P. Bro. Hill, on behalf of No. 1 District) with a P.D.P.’s collar, while D.P. Bro. Connor presented P.A. Bro. Hintz, on behalf of the lodge, with a framed P.A. diploma.
