(Received Jnly 26, at 10.23 a.m.) The general manager of one of the largo Kalgoorlie mines says that there is urgent need for more stringent legislation to prevent the disposal of stolen gold. He instanced cases in which persons known to be connected with the gold-stealing industry had sold as much as 1,5000z at one time to the Mint without any questions being asked.
