After discussion -upon -the immigration question at a meeting of the Auckland Trades and Labor Council last evening, the following resolution was carried:—“ That steps be taken to lay clearly before the people at Home who are emigrating here owing to representation by agents and otherwise, a Ml and complete report of the labor market in this colony, and also that steps be taken to make tiiis as public as possible.” A suggestion was also made that a mass meeting of dissatisfied immigrants should be called to express their views. It will be September at the earliest before the Arbitration Court sit in Dunedin.
