Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin, as under;— Overland, Northern ports, Christ church, and intermediate offices, daily, 6.30 a.m. late letters 7.40; aJeo on the mail van up to 8 a.m. For second express for Palmarston, Oamaru, Waimate, Timaru, Ashburton, and Christchurch, at 12.45 p.m. Also, Northern ports, at 12.45 p.m. on Saturday. For Greyroouth, Hokitika, and Rcefton, Monday and Thursday, at 12.45 p.m. For south express trains at 7.30 a.m. and 5 pan. THURSDAY, JULY 26.
