TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The other evening an elderly gentleman, when crossing the Octagon to Princes street, missed tire kerbstone and fell heavily. Hod there been a level crossing hero-—even one in wood would bo better than nothing—this accident would not have happened. • Some parts of the town tire provided with iron crossings. Not long ago a hole existed in St. Andrew street for weeks. A councillor living in the neighborhood had bis attention drawn to it, but nothing was done to it in the way of repairs until an unfortunate milkman was thrown out of his cart one morning, with thg result that he sustained a broken arm.—l am, etc., Citizen.
