THE SEDDON MEMORIAL

CARTERTON, Jury 14. At a public meeting last night it was resolved that the Carterton Committee deprecate the prosecution of Imperial scholarships as a memorial to the late Mr Seddon, because they believe that a generous response to such an object would not be made whereas an appeal on behalf of a technical college or some like institution established in the colony would be supported by all claeses. It was agreed to suggest to the Wellington Committee that they endeavor to arrange a municipal and county conference simultaneously with the Memorial Conference at Wellington during the coming session of Parliament, the decision..of such conference to be final.
