MELBOURNE, July 13. Mr Deakin stated in the House of Representatives that he had received the Imperial Defence Committee's recommendations for the defence of the Commonwealth. The documents were marked confidential. He had already called the attention of the Im perial authorities to this inconvenient practice 'of marking despatches, and had now asked whether there was anything in th-5 document in question that it was undesirable to make public. FTom a cursory inspection he thought that there Was very little in it that could not be published.
