PRESBYTERIAN OFFICEBEARERS' ASSOCIATION.
"'•' ■ '» ' ' The aanual meeting of the Dunedin and Suburban Presbyterian Office-bearers' Association was held in Knox Church SchooLrboni last evening, when there were sixteen, members present. Mr William Henderson wad in the chair. Mr Colin Taylor wrote resigning Ins position as a member of the Association. Mrs Bayley also wrote acknowledging receipt of a letter of sympathy in a family bereavement. On tho motion of Mr R. Fleming, seconded by Mr T. Begg, the annual report and bal-ance-sheet were adopted. The following were elected, office-bearers for the ensuing year:—President, Mr George Reid; vice-president, Messrs R. Ghisholniand Duncan Wright; secretary, Mr W. Barclay; treasurer, Mr A. Watson; Executive Committee—Messrs W. Taylor, W. Pryor, P. G. Stewart, W. Henderson (Caversham), W. Henderson (Momington), D..Beath, T. Begg, ;R. Fleming, A. C. Begg, P. Thomson, i Mr Chisholni movpd that a hearty vote of I thanks be accorded . the retiring secretary, ; Mr W. Pryor, for his efforts in the past. j He had worked 1 for the best interests of the > Association, and they were all aware of the ability and energy which had been exercised ! by Mr Pryor on behalf of the work con--1 nected with his office. He was convinced j that, a great deal of the success of the Association was due to Mr Fryer's labors. He I moved that the special thanks of the Asso- | elation be accorded to Mr Pryor, and that ! the motion be recorded on the minutes. Mr Wright seconded tho motion, which was enthusiasticaly carried. A vote of thanks was also passed to Mr W. Henderson, the retiring president. In returning thanks, Mr Henderson said that, through his municipal and other duties, he had not been able to devote as much attention to the Association as he would have wished. There would, he thought, be no burning questions to come before them during the ensuing year—nothing to cause any fights—but he hoped that something would arise that would put fresh life into the Association. The social which followed the business meeting was held in the Stuart Hall, and was well attended. A pianoforte solo by Mr R. Macfie initiated the proceedings, and this item was followed by a programme of short addresses, interspersed with vocal and instrumental selections, the contributors to the evening's entertainment being Misses Rule and Nordin, Mrs F. Arthur, Rev. J. Cliisholm, and Messrs W. Henderson, Geo. Reid,. A. C. Begg, and David Todd.
