FIRES
«> A fire broke out in an outhouse adjoining the liun-alow Tea Rooms, St. Kilda, at about a quarter past four yesterday after noon. The St. Ki.d.i and South Dunedm liri.-ades were promptly on the scene, arid with the assistance of "others subdued the iiames, the dam aire being confined to the outhouse and the corner of the main building. The bui'.dint; is owned by Mr Spooner and leased to Miss Wilson. It i" imurcd in the N'ew Zealand Office for £750. CHRISTCFIITRCH, November 30. A boarding-house at Sydenham owned by a Mr Pope, and occupied by a Mr Christensen, was completely destroyed byfire early this morning. The insurance on the furniture was £l5O in the Manchester O-Tice. Tho insurance on the houso is not known.
