CHURCH SERVICES

taiALMERS CHURCH. A largo number of Highland peop-e attended at- the services at Chalmers Church yesterday. Miss Jessie Maclachlnn, the distinguished Highland singer, being also pre-f-eiil. In the afternoon the Rev, Duncan Maciennan, NLA., conducted the monthly Gaelic service, taking for his text Isaiah, chapter lv., verse 7—“ Let tl»e wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” Tho several points underlying the text were forcibly and dearly elaborated into an eloquent and educative discourse. These monthly services have lost none of their initial freshness, and the hour of meet-, ing. which was originally half-past two, has been reverted to as being more convenient to the majority.

CARGILL ROAD METHODIST CHURCH. Large, congregations were present yestordav at. the anniversary services in connection with tho Cargill road Methodist Church.
