LONG WORKING HOURS.
TO THK EDITOR. Sir,—ln a certain part of the southern end of the City tho carpenters' hammers can bo heard hammering away until after 9 p.m., where additions are being made to one of tho numerous villas situated near the Anderson Bay road, and at six o'clock in the morning the same disagreeable noise again begins, causing great annoyance to those who are much in want of sleep. • t don't-know who the disturbers of tho peace ore, but it would not in the least surprise me that they belong to the Joiners' or some other union, and at the aa-mo time are strong advocates of tho eight-hour system. One thing, however, I am certain of—they are both selfish and energetic.—l am, etc, _ , BOMSTDS. January 11.
