The amount; is required on the following d J«es, viz.:—£2o,ooo on the Ist FEBRUARY, 1905; £20,000 on the Ist JUNE,, 1905; £IO,OOO on the Ist OCTOBER, 1905. in his tender which instalment or instalments of the Loan ho is tendering for. If any person tenders generally without specifying any instalment or instalments, the Board may make allotment to him in respect of such instalment or instalments as it shall thiDk fit . up to the aforesaid amount of £200.000 issued by the Board rank pari t/assu, and have ho preference or priority by reason of date of issue or otherwise, and they are, by virtue of the above-mentioned Acts, a Charge on the General Fund of the Board and upon all.Rates leviable by the Board in the City of Dunedin and the Suburban Boroughs of North-east Valley, Maori Hill, Roslyn, Mornington, Caversham, South Dunedin, and St. Kildaj and are further specially secured by the power of, the Supreme Court to Rate the said City and Boroughs in case of default The Debentures will bear interest at the rate of 4£ per cent, per annum, payable halfyearly. Coupons for future interest are attached to each Debenture, and the interest for any broken period will be adjusted on the First Coupon on issue, so that interest shall run on each sum paid by the purchaser, including deposit, from the date of payment. The currency will be for Twenty-one Years from the Ist day of July, 1905. No Tender will be received below par price of the Debenture. Tenderers of the highest premium will have preference, and to tenderers of equal rates Debenturea will be allotted proportionately to the number applied for. Section 58, Clause 9, of the Board's Act cf 1900 provides that "Trustees may invest in Debentures or other instruments representing Loans raised under this Act, as if the same were mentioned in Section 14 of 'The Trustees Act 1883 Amendment Act, 1891."* Tenders to be addressed to the Secretary, at the Office of the Board, Stock Exchange Buildings, Dunedin, marked "Tender for Loan," and must be lodged before 5 p.m. on the 24-th day of JANUARY, 1905; and all tenders shall be deemed to be made in terms of this notice. Each Tender must be accompanied by a marked cheque for 5 per centum of the amount tendered, and should the tender be withdrawn, _ or the sum or sums tendered rema!'', unpaid for seven days afrer the time whe" the same becomes or become, payable, the Board may forfeit the deposit Interest on the said Debentures shall be payable, at the option of the holder, at the Branches of the Bank of New Zealand at Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington,; Auckland, London, Melbourne, or Sydney, such option to be exercised from time to time by notice to the Board; and the principal shall b' payable on the due date of the Debenture at the Board's Office at Dunedin, or, at the option of the holder, at such of the aforesaid places as shall be indicated by any notice to the Board given by the holder at least six months before the due date of the Debenture.
