LONDON, January 10. Frank Gardner, of Gardner and Gerpolet, eoaoectad' with Westralian mining, was sued in Paris by a woman who went through a form of marriage with him at San Francisco in 1896, and whom be acknowledged as his wife until 190 L ' She now seeks to estabrisn the validity of the marriage, or, if invalid, claims £40,000 as compensation. The case has teen adjourned for a week. Annie Guest, wife of a prominent Birmingham architect, died from an overdose of laudanum taken to induce sleep. She had previously been the wifo of a man named Wilson, who years ago went to Australia and was thought dead. He recently returned and claimed her, but in vain. She became distracted, and fell into ill-health.
